About us

Bristol Care & Repair is an organisation with charitable status, supported by Bristol Council. Our priority is to help as many people as we can, and to provide an affordable service that reflects individuals’ needs.

Our services are available to homeowners in the Bristol area who are over 60, or who are disabled. Some of our services are free and some will involve a charge. We will always let you know of any costs in advance and you can always decide not to have the work done.

Trusted Contractors list
If you are having major work done in your house, we can help you to find reputable and experienced contractors who charge a fair price. We have a Trusted Contractors list that we can make available to clients who would like to organise the work themselves.

We can also arrange the work for you if needed, which may involve a fee, usually capped at 10% of the cost of works. This cost applies when we design the project, go out to tender and manage the contractors to deliver the project on your behalf

Funding work
There are different sources of funding to pay for home improvement work. Our experienced staffs can also advise you about government grants or benefits to pay for the work, or tell you about other organisations that may be able to help you financially.

Royal British Legion

If you or your partner served in the armed forces for seven or more days of paid service during the war or in peacetime (including National Service) then the Royal British Legion may be able to pay all of your costs.
